Nexon Games has released the results of their latest anti-cheat operation in The First Descendant, resulting in permanent bans for 71 players and temporary restrictions for 331 others. The crackdown, conducted between April 25 and May 8, 2025, targeted unauthorized program usage, payment exploitation, and unusual gameplay activity.
Nexon's Anti-Cheat Measures Target Multiple Violations
In their ongoing effort to maintain a fair gaming environment, Nexon Games has implemented strict penalties against players violating The First Descendant's terms of service. The developer's recent enforcement action affected over 400 accounts across multiple violation categories.
The most severe penalties were handed to 51 players who received permanent game bans for creating, distributing, or using unauthorized programs. Additionally, 20 players received permanent bans for exploiting the Open Store payment processes, bringing the total permanent ban count to 71.
Temporary Penalties for Gameplay Violations
Beyond the permanent bans, Nexon also issued temporary restrictions to players exhibiting unusual gameplay activity. Fifteen users received 30-day game access restrictions, while a substantial 316 players were hit with 3-day separate matchmaking penalties.
This tiered approach to penalties demonstrates Nexon's commitment to proportional enforcement based on the severity of violations, while maintaining their zero-tolerance policy for cheating and payment exploitation.
How Can Players Report Abusive Behavior?
Nexon encourages the community to help maintain game integrity by reporting suspicious activity through the in-game report feature. This player-driven monitoring complements Nexon's internal detection systems to create a more comprehensive anti-cheat framework.
Appeal Process Available for Certain Violations
Players who believe they were wrongfully banned for Open Store payment exploitation can appeal through the official website's Customer Service section via 1:1 Support. For chargeback-related bans, players must contact the platform store where they made the payment.
Nexon has committed to continuing these enforcement actions to ensure all Descendants can enjoy the game in what they describe as "a pleasant environment," suggesting more crackdowns may follow in the future.
