Nexon Games has completed its weekly enforcement actions in The First Descendant, resulting in 45 permanent bans and over 200 temporary penalties. The developer continues its commitment to maintaining a fair gaming environment through regular monitoring and player reports.
Permanent Bans Target Cheaters and Payment Exploiters
Between April 18 and April 24, 2025, Nexon Games permanently banned 27 players for creating, distributing, or using unauthorized programs in The First Descendant. An additional 18 players received permanent bans for exploiting the Open Store payment processes.
These strict measures reflect the developer's zero-tolerance policy toward cheating and payment fraud, which can negatively impact the game's economy and player experience.
What temporary restrictions were issued?
Beyond the permanent bans, Nexon also issued temporary restrictions to players engaging in "unusual gameplay activity" - a term typically covering behavior that violates game rules without necessarily using third-party software:
- 3 players received 30-day restrictions on game access
- 225 players received 3-day separate matchmaking penalties
These temporary penalties serve as warnings to players who may be engaging in disruptive behavior without crossing the threshold for permanent removal.
How to Report and Appeal
Nexon encourages the community to help maintain a positive gaming environment by reporting suspicious activity through the in-game report feature. This system has proven effective, as many of the enforcement actions stem directly from player reports combined with the development team's monitoring.
For players who believe they were wrongfully banned:
- Open Store payment process bans can be appealed through the official website's 1:1 Support system
- Chargeback-related bans should be addressed with the platform store where the payment was made (PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Steam, etc.)
This week's crackdown demonstrates The First Descendant's ongoing commitment to fair play since its July 2024 launch. The free-to-play co-op shooter continues to maintain a strong anti-cheat stance to ensure all players can enjoy the game as intended.
