Grinding Gear Games has announced a series of three competitive racing events for Path of Exile 2, challenging players to be the first to defeat Doryani in Act 3. The races will take place on May 25, June 1, and June 8, 2025, with attractive prizes on offer for the fastest players.
Race to Kill Doryani: Event Format and Schedule
All three racing events will begin at 1:00 PM PDT (8:00 PM UTC) on their respective dates. Players will compete in a Standard Solo Self-Found environment with fixed layouts, making for a fair and balanced competition. While not a Hardcore event, deaths will incur a significant one-minute movement penalty, adding strategic depth to the races.
The races will feature seven playable classes: Ranger, Sorceress, Witch, Monk, Warrior, Mercenary, and notably, the newly added Huntress class making its competitive debut. Real-time ladder tracking will be available on the official Path of Exile 2 website.
What Prizes Can Racers Win?
Winners can look forward to prestigious rewards. The top player in each class will receive a Demigod's Virtue Unique item, while the fastest times for each class across all three races will earn a choice of custom Path of Exile 2 Desk Pads. The ultimate prize—a Divination Card design opportunity—awaits the fastest player across all three events.
Race rewards can be converted into microtransactions using the "/convertracereward" command, and prizes will be delivered via Remove-Only stash tabs in core leagues. Both PC and console players can participate with a shared prize pool.
How Can Players Participate?
Joining the races is straightforward—players simply need to click the "Join" button on the Character Select screen. The event is free and open to everyone, with no streaming requirements or limits on participation. However, players should join early, as all races will start simultaneously.

For those who prefer to spectate, all three races will be streamed live on the official Path of Exile Twitch channel, featuring expert commentary from popular community figures ZiggyD and RaizQT. Co-streaming is welcome for content creators.
The announcement comes as Path of Exile 2 continues to build momentum ahead of its December 6, 2024 release. These racing events provide an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their skills and for viewers to witness high-level gameplay from the upcoming ARPG sequel.
