Grinding Gear Games has revealed plans for Path of Exile 2's upcoming 0.2.0h update, scheduled to arrive by mid-May 2025. The patch focuses on enhancing the endgame experience with improved Breaches and introducing several quality-of-life features including new specialized stash tabs and UI improvements.
Endgame Improvements Target Breach Mechanics
The most substantial changes in the 0.2.0h update focus on improving the Breach mechanic. Players can expect more monsters within Breaches and longer duration times, making these encounters more rewarding. The update will also reduce small Breach splinter stack drops in favor of fewer but larger stacks – a welcome change for inventory management.
Additional endgame enhancements include better visibility for Rogue Exiles, making these dangerous encounters easier to spot during hectic gameplay. Azmerian Wisps will also receive behavioral improvements, particularly when players activate two simultaneously.
New Stash Tabs Expand Storage Options
Two specialized stash tabs will join the lineup in this update. The Ritual Tab will provide dedicated storage for Omens and Audiences with the King, while the new Socketable Tab will organize Runes, Talismans, and Soul Cores. The Socketable Tab will also include functionality for upgrading Runes, streamlining this process for players.
What Quality of Life Improvements Can Players Expect?
Several UI enhancements aim to reduce friction in gameplay. New icons for Strongboxes and Essences will allow players to use currency directly from their inventory without opening it first. The update also adds support for using Vaal Orbs on Essences, expanding crafting possibilities.
Item filtering receives attention with the addition of filterable Unidentified Item Tiers. Players will be able to sort through Tier 1-5 Magic and Rare items more efficiently, a significant improvement for loot management in the item-heavy ARPG.
Private Leagues Making Their Debut
The update will enable Private Leagues using the Path of Exile 2 website. While initially launching without extra mods, the developers have indicated that functionality will expand in future updates, giving players more customization options for their private gameplay experiences.
Grinding Gear Games announced these changes on May 8, 2025, with a promise to share more detailed information about the update early next week. The 0.2.0h patch continues the developer's commitment to regular improvements for Path of Exile 2 following its December 2024 release.
