Grinding Gear Games has announced significant improvements coming to Path of Exile 2 in the upcoming Patch 0.2.0g. Following the recent deployment of Patch 0.2.0f, the team is already working on the next wave of enhancements focused primarily on loot drops and Corrupted Nexuses, expected to arrive within the next couple of weeks after April 17, 2025.

Loot Improvements Taking Center Stage

Players frustrated with inconsistent rewards will be pleased to learn that Path of Exile 2 is addressing several loot-related pain points. The upcoming patch will raise the minimum quality floor for campaign boss drops, effectively eliminating those disappointing no-reward encounters that have plagued unlucky players.

Beyond campaign content, all bosses will see improved drop quality across the board. Additionally, monsters possessed by Azmerian Wisps will drop more valuable items, making these challenging encounters more rewarding.

Corrupted Nexuses Getting Much-Needed Changes

The Atlas progression system is receiving significant adjustments with fewer Corrupted Nexuses required to obtain all Atlas Passive Points. This change directly addresses community feedback about the grind feeling excessive for casual players.

Navigation improvements are also coming, with enhanced visibility for Corrupted Nexuses in the Fog on the Atlas Map, making them easier to locate and target during gameplay sessions.

What Other Content Is Being Improved?

Several endgame activities are receiving balance adjustments:

  • Pinnacle content will become more accessible to a wider range of players
  • Simulacrums will see reduced difficulty, addressing difficulty spike concerns
  • Expeditions will offer increased rewards
  • Remnants in Expeditions will have their difficulty spikes lowered

When To Expect The Update

Grinding Gear Games plans to deploy Patch 0.2.0g within the next couple of weeks after April 17, 2025. The development team noted that the exact timing will work around both the Easter holidays and ANZAC Day (a New Zealand public holiday), which may affect the release schedule.

These changes demonstrate GGG's commitment to responding quickly to player feedback as Path of Exile 2 continues to evolve ahead of its full release on December 6, 2025. Players can find the complete announcement details on the official Path of Exile forums.
