Grinding Gear Games has announced a substantial update for Path of Exile 2 based on player feedback, rolling out over the next few days. The changes include significant buffs to multiple classes, a new support gem, improved crafting options, and various quality-of-life enhancements aimed at addressing community concerns.
Class-Specific Improvements Lead the Update
The Sorceress receives substantial buffs, with Arc now creating lightning explosions when hitting shocked enemies, Eye of Winter gaining bonus elemental damage, and Incinerate's exposure duration quadrupled to 8 seconds. Mana Tempest has been reworked to function with all spells and empower spell splitting, while Frostbolt's explosion radius increases by 50%.
Huntress players will benefit from parried enemies no longer being able to evade attacks, improved Rapid Assault mechanics, and Spearfield duration extending to 10 seconds with 30% more damage. Warriors gain enhanced Temper Weapon abilities and can now detonate Shield Wall with Warcries.
Rangers haven't been forgotten, with Stormcaller arrows now proliferating shocks to nearby enemies, Lightning Rod receiving a 30% damage boost, and Tornado Shot's maximum duration increasing to 15 seconds.
New Support Gem and Mechanical Changes
The update introduces the Inhibitor support gem, which prevents charge consumption. Additionally, Energy Shield will no longer prevent bleeding application, while Chaos Innoculation will now protect against bleeding effects.
Delirium enthusiasts will appreciate encounters lasting approximately 2.5 times longer, providing more opportunities to gather rewards before the fog dissipates.
What Crafting Improvements Are Coming?
Crafting receives significant attention with additional Artificers Orbs placed in fixed campaign locations and new attribute runes addressing early game requirement issues. All runes are being updated to work with Wands and Staves, expanding build options for spellcasters.
Quality of Life Enhancements
Several frustrating gameplay elements are being addressed: rare monsters will now always appear on the minimap in endgame content, and the Matlan Waterways area has been streamlined by reducing the number of levers by approximately six.
Grinding Gear Games is also investigating monster speed issues to address complaints about excessive swarming that can overwhelm players.
Exploiters Face Consequences
In a disciplinary action, 301 accounts have been banned until the end of the current league for exploiting a Ritual item deferral cost bug combined with unlimited rerolls.
According to the developers, these changes represent only part of their ongoing response to player feedback, with additional improvements planned for Path of Exile 2 in future updates. The changes are scheduled to deploy over the next few days starting from April 9, 2025.
