NetEase Games is celebrating the first anniversary of Marvel Rivals' Closed Alpha Test with two special offerings: Galacta's Gift event featuring free rewards including a Costume Coin, and the limited-time return of the Season 0 Battle Pass at a special price. Galacta's Gift Brings Free Rewards to All Players
To commemorate one year since the Closed Alpha Test launched in May 2024, Marvel Rivals is thanking its community with the Galacta's Gift event starting May 15, 2025. Players can earn several free rewards simply by playing the game, including Nameplates, Sprays, and Chrono Shield Cards.
The highlight of Galacta's Gift is a free Costume Coin that allows players to redeem a debut costume for any of the 33 heroes from Season 0. This generous offering gives both veteran and new players the opportunity to customize their favorite character with a premium cosmetic at no cost.
Season 0 Battle Pass Returns for Limited Time
In addition to the free gifts, NetEase is bringing back the Season 0 Battle Pass for a limited two-week window. Available from May 15 to May 29, 2025 (2:00 AM PDT), the returning Battle Pass will be offered at a special price of 590 Lattice.
Unlike the original release, this returning Battle Pass will only include the premium reward track without the free tier. This marks the first time Marvel Rivals has brought back a previous season's Battle Pass, establishing a precedent for future re-releases.
What Players Should Know About Battle Pass Returns
The developers have outlined their approach to Battle Pass returns in the latest Dev Talk. Future Battle Passes will only return at least two seasons after their original release and will be priced at least 20% higher than their initial cost.
It's worth noting that one of the game's most player-friendly features remains unchanged: once purchased, Battle Passes never expire. This allows players to continue progressing through Battle Pass levels and unlocking rewards at their own pace, even after the season ends.
Anniversary Celebration Timing
Both the Galacta's Gift event and the Season 0 Battle Pass return will begin following the May 15th update. While the Battle Pass will only be available until May 29th, the developers haven't specified an end date for the Galacta's Gift event.
This celebration comes at an exciting time for the free-to-play hero shooter, which continues to expand its roster and features ahead of its full release on December 6, 2024, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
