NetEase Games has released a new patch for Marvel Rivals on April 30, 2025. The update introduces the Hellfire Gala: Moments event, new premium costume bundles, and numerous bug fixes. Players can download the update starting at 09:00 UTC with no server downtime required.
Hellfire Gala Event Brings Free Wolverine Costume
The highlight of this update is the Hellfire Gala: Moments event, which runs from May 2 to May 23, 2025. Players who participate can earn a free Wolverine "Patch" series costume by completing event challenges. This limited-time event draws inspiration from the X-Men's prestigious annual gala, bringing the formal yet fierce aesthetic to Marvel Rivals.
New Premium Costume Bundles
Two new premium costume bundles have been added to the in-game store:
- Winter Soldier - Thunderbolts Bundle
- Black Panther - Damisa-Sarki Bundle
These bundles offer fresh looks for these popular heroes, with the Winter Soldier costume featuring his Thunderbolts team appearance and Black Panther donning his royal Damisa-Sarki attire.
Existing Costume Improvements
Several existing costumes have received significant enhancements:
- Thor's "Lord of Asgard" costume now features improved visibility and fixes for crosshair obstruction issues
- Doctor Strange's "Multiverse of Madness" costume has enhanced visual details and voice effects
Players can now also toggle costume-specific sound effects back to defaults through the Settings menu, offering more customization options.
Performance Scoring and Account Management Updates
The development team has recalibrated hero performance scores using data from Season 2.0, providing more accurate metrics for player evaluation. Additionally, a new account deletion process has been implemented that allows locked accounts to initiate deletion even when logged out, improving account management options.
What bugs have been fixed in this patch?
The update addresses numerous gameplay issues across maps, modes, and hero abilities:
- Fixed map glitches in Competitive mode and the Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown environment
- Resolved an issue in Giant-Size Brain Blast mode where destroying enemy summons incorrectly counted toward head enlargement
- Corrected Wolverine's invisibility glitch when responding to Fastball Special while in Invisible Woman's ultimate
- Fixed The Thing's Embattled Leap targeting teammates within enemy Invisible Woman's ultimate
- Addressed Cloak & Dagger's ultimate incorrectly damaging shielded enemies
- Fixed several movement and ability issues for Wolverine, Star-Lord, and Mister Fantastic
- Resolved a network instability issue causing wall-climbing heroes to be pulled to the ground
These fixes should significantly improve gameplay consistency across Marvel Rivals' roster of heroes and villains, particularly for those who main the affected characters.
