Battlestate Games has rolled out a crucial technical update for Escape from Tarkov today, addressing stability issues that have been preventing some PMCs from even entering the Norvinsk region. Alongside critical crash fixes, the patch corrects some bizarre AI behavior on Ground Zero and audio levels on Streets of Tarkov.
Stability and UI Fixes
The most significant part of this update addresses the game client crashing during launch. For a game where "gear fear" is real and preparation takes time, failing to launch is the ultimate frustration. This fix should ensure a smoother deployment for players who were previously getting blocked before they could even check their stash.
Additionally, the developers have tidied up the UI on the raid reconnection screen. While we all hope to never see that screen, having the layout display correctly when you're frantically trying to get back into a raid before a Scav finds your disconnected character is a welcome quality-of-life improvement.
Ground Zero and Streets of Tarkov Adjustments
Two specific maps received targeted fixes that change how you interact with the environment:
- Ground Zero: The developers have fixed the cause of "flying bots." While seeing a Scav levitate might be amusing, it breaks the gritty immersion Tarkov relies on. AI behavior should now remain grounded in reality.
- Streets of Tarkov: The BTR's shot volume has been corrected. In a game where sound is your primary source of information, having audio cues that are too loud or incorrectly mixed can be fatal. You should now be able to gauge the BTR's engagement distance more accurately without blowing out your eardrums.
What else changed in this update?
Beyond the mechanical fixes, the patch also resolves localization issues regarding dialogue page switching. This ensures that players interacting with Traders or navigating menus in different languages won't hit dead ends in the UI.
These updates are live now. Make sure your client is updated via the launcher before you attempt your next raid into the city.
