The latest This Week in Destiny update brings exciting news for Guardians. Ghost of the Deep dungeon has entered the Rite of the Nine rotation, offering players the chance to earn exclusive rewards across multiple difficulty tiers. Meanwhile, this is the final week to obtain The Slammer (Adept) Stasis sword from Nightfalls, and the runner-up "Wizard" themed ornament sets from Festival of the Lost 2024 have arrived in the Eververse store.

Ghost of the Deep Takes Center Stage in Rite of the Nine

After two weeks of Spire of the Watcher, Destiny 2 players can now dive into Ghost of the Deep as part of the Rite of the Nine rotation. The dungeon will be available until June 3, with three difficulty options to challenge Guardians: Explore, Eternity, and Ultimatum.

For those looking to maximize their rewards, the week of May 27 will feature increased weapon drops and rewards from enemies defeated within the activity. This special reward period makes it the perfect time to chase those elusive god rolls.

Detailed Rite of the Nine Rotation Schedule

Bungie has outlined the complete Rite of the Nine rotation schedule through mid-July, giving players plenty of opportunities to plan their dungeon runs:

  • Ghost of the Deep: May 20 - June 3 (increased rewards week of May 27)
  • Prophecy: June 3 - June 17 (increased rewards week of June 10)
  • All Dungeons Available: June 17 - July 8 (with weekly rotating increased currency rewards)
  • "Lootapalooza" Event: July 8 - July 15 (featuring increased rewards in all dungeons and a new way to spend Nonary Manifold currency)

Last Call for The Slammer (Adept)

This week marks the final opportunity for Guardians to acquire The Slammer (Adept), the coveted Stasis Legendary Sword from Nightfalls. Known for its powerful combination of Eager Edge and Cool Steel perks, this weapon is highly sought after for both PvE and PvP content.

Players who haven't secured their Adept version should prioritize Nightfall runs this week. Remember that Nightfall weapons can also be focused at Zavala in the Tower if you have the necessary materials.

What makes The Slammer worth chasing?

This Stasis sword offers exceptional mobility options through its Eager Edge perk, while Cool Steel provides increased damage potential. With Destiny 2's next expansion, The Edge of Fate, on the horizon, having a powerful Stasis weapon in your arsenal could prove valuable.

Wizard-Themed Ornaments Now Available

The runner-up "Wizard" themed ornament sets from Festival of the Lost 2024 have made their way to the Eververse store. These sets, which weren't selected during the community vote, can now be purchased with either Bright Dust or Silver:

  • Titan: Cryptic Magus Set
  • Hunter: Uncanny Conjurer Set
  • Warlock: Eerie Thaumaturge Set

Bungie Considering Official Speedrun Challenges

Following impressive speedrun performances in Spire of the Watcher, Bungie has revealed they're exploring the creation of an official "Bungie Speedrun Challenge" format. The developer is currently brainstorming ideas for implementation after The Edge of Fate launches, which would include clear rules and potentially exclusive rewards.
