Bungie has released their latest This Week At Bungie (TWAB) post, highlighting the upcoming Destiny 2 events and the highly anticipated Marathon gameplay reveal. The showcase, scheduled for April 12 at 10:00 AM Pacific, marks a historic moment as Bungie will be running two live service games simultaneously for the first time in their history.
Marathon Gameplay Showcase Brings Rewards for Guardians
For the first time in a decade, Bungie is showcasing gameplay from a non-Destiny 2 title. The Marathon Gameplay Reveal is set for April 12 at 10:00 AM Pacific, and Guardians who tune in can earn exclusive rewards.
Watch at least 15 minutes of the showcase on any Twitch channel in the Marathon directory to earn the "Destination: Tau Ceti" emblem for Destiny 2. Additionally, subscribers to creators in the Marathon directory between April 11 (7:45 AM PT) and April 12 (4:00 PM PT) will receive a special Twitch Badge.
What's Next for Marathon?
Following Saturday's showcase, Marathon will launch its own Discord server and dedicated social media channels. This marks the beginning of Bungie's dual-game era, with different communication approaches planned for each title. For Destiny 2, the "This Week in Destiny" (TWID) updates will continue regularly.
Heresy Storyline Concludes as New Content Approaches
The narrative arc of Episode: Heresy has reached its epic conclusion with Act III. The storyline took players through losing Eris, battling her killer, discovering Oryx's return as the Echo of Navigation, and ultimately fighting back in the finale.
Guardians should now prepare for upcoming content, including:
- Rite of the Nine dungeon reprise arriving in the coming weeks
- Codename: Frontiers content drop scheduled for Summer 2025
Players can still pursue Heresy content like the Delver Title, Heretical weapons, and solo challenges in the Sundered Doctrine dungeon. Bungie has also partnered with Displate to offer a Crossed Blades Metal Poster Bungie Reward for players who completed the associated Triumph (available until May 6, with purchases open until June 10).
Trials of Osiris Returns with Double Rewards
Trials of Osiris makes its return on April 11, featuring Exalted Truth as the highlighted reward. Double Crucible rewards will be active throughout the week, making this an excellent opportunity for PvP enthusiasts to stock up on materials and gear.
The battlefield will be Eventide Labs, offering a mix of open areas for long-range engagements and interior spaces for close-quarters combat. Time to dust off that god-roll Pulse Rifle or perfect your shotgun slides!
Enhanced Anti-Cheat Measures Coming
Bungie is updating their Account Restriction and Ban Policies to implement new automated processes alongside their existing manual reviews. Previously, all actions required manual approval, creating delays between detecting cheaters and removing them from the game.
These automated processes, developed and rigorously tested by Bungie, will help expedite the removal of bad actors while maintaining accuracy. The appeals process remains unchanged and will help further refine their detection tools.
For guardians encountering issues, the latest Known Issues list includes fixes for several bugs affecting gameplay, quests, and gear functionality, including problems with the Sunless Cell Grandmaster, Court of Blades boss spawns, and various quest progression issues.
