This week's Destiny 2 update brings a mixed bag of news for Guardians across the solar system. Titans continue their dominance in the Guardian Games, PvP enthusiasts can look forward to significant competitive playlist improvements, and collectors have until May to secure several Exotic weapon replicas through Bungie Rewards. Meanwhile, a critical policy change regarding account unlinking is set to take effect next week.
Guardian Games Midpoint: Titans Crushing the Competition
The Guardian Games has reached its halfway point, and Destiny 2's class rivalry is looking decidedly one-sided. Titans have claimed victory on six days so far, with Hunters managing three wins, while Warlocks remain winless in what can only be described as a disappointing showing for the scholarly space wizards.

The class standings currently sit at:
Titans | Hunters | Warlocks |
---|---|---|
6 | 3 | 0 |
Bungie reminds players to complete the Drop In quest to earn the AllStar Vector Skimmer reward. For those looking to maximize their effectiveness in the current meta, the Kerauinos Trace Rifle with the Harsh Refraction perk is recommended. Additionally, Guardians can collect up to five Fizzled Games Mementos when dunking medals.
Rushdown Roulette Winners Announced
The first week of Guardian Games Rushdown Roulette has concluded with creator-led teams posting impressive scores:
- Warlocks: ANZ team led by Kimber Prime (530,114 points)
- Hunters: North America team led by SamiKat (499,557 points)
- Titans: Nordics team led by iScreamQueen (527,296 points)
Participants in the event and those who gifted Twitch subscriptions during streams can claim the Competitive Contender emblem, with a fix for redemption issues coming on March 25.

PvP Strike Team Reveals Major Competitive Updates
The PvP Strike Team has announced several significant changes aimed at improving the competitive experience in Destiny 2's Crucible.
A new "Slow Capture Collision" variant is coming to Small Team Quickplay, introducing a fresh twist on zone control. In this mode, zones take longer to capture and rotate immediately after capture, with progress only gained by standing on the zone. The first team to seven captures claims victory.
The Competitive Rank point system is also receiving substantial improvements:
- Increased performance bonus granularity and maximum amount (from +10 to +20)
- Increased maximum contribution scalar (from +50 to +60)
- Matchmaking fixes for high-skill players in Gold and Silver ranks
Update 8.2.5.2 will introduce Skill Delta Modifier changes with new point thresholds:
- Maximum Win Amount: 190 points
- Minimum Win Amount: 90 points
- Maximum Loss Amount: 110 points
- Minimum Loss Amount: 10 points
Solo players facing off against coordinated fireteams will also see improvements to loss forgiveness mechanics. Additionally, dedicated players can earn the Ascendant 0 Competitive emblem through a point system for wins at the Ascendant 0 rank.
What's New in Eververse?
Bungie is addressing several longstanding cosmetic issues with class items and ornaments:
- Warlock Class Item Glow: A new Bright Dust shader is coming next season that will intentionally remove glows for players who prefer a more subtle look.
- Stasis Drake Hunter Ornament: A duplicate helmet that lowers hoods by default is being created for Hunters who prefer that aesthetic.
- Heart's Pledge Titan Ornament: Titans will receive a duplicate ornament without cloth for greater customization flexibility.
These duplicate items will be provided at no additional cost to owners of the original ornaments.
