Guardians, it's that time again! Bungie has dropped their latest This Week in Destiny (TWID), and it's packed with juicy announcements that'll have you polishing your god rolls faster than Zavala can say "indeed." From a deep dive into Heresy's second act to the return of beloved events, let's break down everything you need to know.

Heresy Act II Developer Livestream Coming March 4

Mark your calendars! Bungie is hosting a developer livestream on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10 AM PT to give us an in-depth look at Heresy Act II before its launch on March 11, 2025. The team will showcase the new activity, gear, and rewards coming in Act II, plus a small preview of what's brewing for Act III.

Complete enough challenges and you'll earn rewards including:

  • Access to purchase the 2024 Moments of Triumph shirt (5 Triumphs)

  • Flagbearer Sparrow (21 Triumphs)
  • MMXXIV Seal and Title plus access to purchase the Title pin (26 Triumphs)

Trials of Osiris Returns February 28

After giving Iron Banner some breathing room, Trials of Osiris makes its triumphant return on February 28, 2025. This weekend, you'll be battling it out on Solitude for the first time since Trials returned. The reward? Aisha's Care, the Strand Heavy Burst Pulse Rifle with perk combinations that'll make both PvE and PvP players drool.

Looking ahead to March 7, 2025, we'll be heading to Endless Vale with the Adept Keen Thistle Sniper Rifle making its debut. Triple Tap AND Fourth Time's the Charm on a sniper? That's enough bullets to make Banshee-44's memory circuits short out.

If you need a refresher on how the revamped Trials works, here's the breakdown:

Lighthouse Passage

The traditional path to the Lighthouse is now more straightforward. Pick up the Lighthouse Passage from Saint-14, get seven wins, and reap the rewards. Each consecutive win increases your chances for better loot, with three wins in a row guaranteeing an Adept weapon from the chest. Hit five consecutive wins without a loss? You'll unlock a Trials glow and have a shot at a Trials ship or Sparrow.

Going Flawless (seven wins, zero losses) still offers the best rewards. After visiting the Lighthouse, keep playing on your completed Passage for increased chances at post-game loot based on your longest win streak for the week.

Trials Passage

For a more casual experience, the regular Trials Passage lets you earn standard weapons, complete challenges, and have a shot at a Trials ghost with less sweaty matchmaking. You won't reach the Lighthouse, but you'll still score some sweet loot at your own pace.

2v2 Clash Returns Next Week

Duos rejoice! 2v2 Clash is coming back to the Quickplay Small Team Rotator next week. This mode features a unique twist: you gain extra flinch resistance when near your ally but increased sprint speed when separated. Time to decide if you'll stick together like peanut butter and jelly or split up for those devastating pincer attacks.

Sundered Doctrine Showmatch Schedule

The Sundered Doctrine Speedrun Showmatch continues with the final runs. Teams will get two hours to complete the dungeon as quickly as possible, with the winners receiving $1,000 USD worth of Twitch subs each plus a full set of Sundered Doctrine Bungie Rewards items.

The complete schedule runs from February 27 through March 3, 2025, with teams from around the world competing. If you tune in to these streams, keep an eye out for Osmium Heir emblem giveaways:

#D2HeresyFashion Winners Announced

Bungie has revealed the winners of the #D2HeresyFashion contest, and the creativity is off the charts. From Hive-inspired looks to Tormentor cosplays that would make even Xivu Arath do a double-take, these Guardians brought their A-game. The winners receive both the Felis Galaxias and The Levante Prize emblems.

Some standouts include an eerily accurate Heir to Oryx, a creepy Thrall welcome party, and an Aztec-inspired set that caught the Community Team's eye. Who knew fashioning yourself after the Darkness could look so good?

Update 8.2.0.2 and Known Issues

Bungie deployed Update 8.2.0.2 this week, which addressed issues in Trials of Osiris, Sundered Doctrine, and tweaked various abilities and weapons. If you're curious about the full details, check out the 8.2.0.2 patch notes.

The known issues list has also been updated, with problems ranging from Ionic Sentry not properly chaining lightning to quest progress issues with the Drowning Labyrinth quest. For the complete list of known issues, visit Bungie's help page.

With Heresy Act II just around the corner, there's plenty to keep Guardians busy. Whether you're grinding Grandmaster Nightfalls for that perfect Palindrome roll, preparing for the next chapter of the Heresy storyline, or sweating it out in Trials this weekend, the solar system remains as dangerous and exciting as ever. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some GM speedruns to attempt—sub-15 minutes is the goal, after all!
