Activision has revealed the full details for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 04, launching May 29 across all platforms. The season introduces an unlikely alliance between Adler and former nemesis Stitch, five new multiplayer maps, the return of Grief mode to Zombies, a massive new Warzone POI, five new weapons, and a special crossover with the John Wick universe.
Grief Mode Returns After 13-Year Absence
In what might be the most exciting announcement for longtime Zombies fans, Grief mode is making its triumphant return to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 after being absent since Black Ops 2. This 4v4 competitive mode pits two teams against each other while they battle the undead, with teams unable to directly kill opponents but able to sabotage them through body-blocking and other tactics.
The revamped Grief mode introduces Capture Zones that appear regularly, allowing teams to earn zombie kills and trigger "Griefs" (debuffs) on the opposing team. The mode will be available across all Zombies maps and will be celebrated with the Master of Grief event later in the season.
Multiplayer Expands with Five New Maps
Season 04 adds three maps at launch: Shutdown (a hydroelectric plant in Iceland), Fugitive (a CIA black site prison), and Blitz (an ambush site with rugged terrain). Mid-season will bring two more: Eclipse (an underground nightclub) and a reimagined version of the fan-favorite Fringe map from Black Ops 3.
Multiplayer also sees the return of the Grim Reaper Scorestreak from the original Black Ops, along with new modes including Team Elimination and One in the Chamber. Ranked Play continues with fresh rewards for competitive players.
What's New in Warzone?
Verdansk gets a major update with The Overlook, a massive skyscraper POI in Downtown featuring multiple floors, ziplines connecting to surrounding rooftops, and two huge construction cranes. A new gameplay mechanic called Lobby Lockdown creates intense combat situations within this vertical playground.
Warzone also welcomes back the 52v52 Clash mode and introduces Resurgence Casual with bots for newer players to practice. Battle Royale Ranked Play returns for competitive Warzone enthusiasts, and players can traverse the map on the new Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 ATV.
New Weapons and Operators
Five new weapons join the arsenal: the LC10 SMG and FFAR 1 Assault Rifle at launch, followed by the Essex Model 07 Marksman Rifle, Olympia double-barrel shotgun, and Pickaxe melee weapon during the season.
The Season 04 Battle Pass features Stitch as the main operator, while the premium BlackCell offering introduces Omen, complete with a three-headed guard dog. The season also brings Eve Macarro from the upcoming film Ballerina (set in the John Wick universe) as a special crossover operator.
Season Events and Esports
Multiple in-game events will keep players engaged throughout the season: the Ballerina Event (June 5-12), Rivals Event (June 12-26), King of the Dead (June 26-July 3), and Master of Grief (July 10-17).
Call of Duty League Major IV takes place at DreamHack Dallas from May 23-25, with special viewership rewards available for fans who tune in to the competition.
Season 04 launches on May 29 at 9AM PT across all platforms, continuing to expand the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 experience with a wealth of new content for players of all preferences.
