Riot Games has released Patch 10.10 for Valorant, bringing significant visual improvements to Raze's abilities, starting the process of unifying the PC and console interfaces, and making several balance adjustments. The update also increases the cap on refunded RR for players below Radiant rank and prepares for the return of Pick'Ems for Masters Toronto.

Raze Gets Visual Clarity Improvements

The most noticeable gameplay change in this patch focuses on Raze's abilities. Her Boom Bot and Paint Shells explosion VFX have been updated to more accurately represent their hitboxes, addressing a long-standing issue where the visual effects didn't precisely match the actual damage area. Additionally, these visual effects will now remain in the world for a shorter period, improving overall gameplay clarity during intense firefights.

Unifying PC and Console Experiences

Patch 10.10 marks the beginning of Riot's initiative to streamline development between PC and console versions of Valorant. The first phase of this unification focuses on the Collection interface, removing the separate navigation page for console players and making all content types available directly from the Collection page. PC players will notice minor changes too, including the removal of level and chroma indicators in weapon tiles.

According to Riot, these changes will "reduce the time spent supporting them separately and work toward delivering new features more quickly" across both platforms.

Competitive and Mode Updates

For players below Radiant rank, Riot has increased the cap on refunded Ranked Rating (RR) that players can receive within an Act. The developers noted they are "continuing to monitor edge cases around experiences with refunds."

In Swiftplay mode, Tejo's Armageddon ultimate now requires 3 points to activate instead of 2. This change was actually implemented in Patch 10.09 but wasn't documented in the previous notes. Riot mentioned that "ultimates at 9 points in the future will be automatically updated to scale."

Meanwhile, Icebox remains disabled in both Deathmatch and Escalation game modes as the team continues to address spawn-related issues that emerged in the previous patch.

What bugs have been fixed?

The update includes numerous bug fixes for several agents. Omen's Dark Cover interaction with nearsight effects has been addressed, though this reintroduces a known issue where Omen can't see properly when casting Dark Cover while overlapping with dense smokes. Vyse, Deadlock, Tejo, Yoru, and Brimstone all received specific bug fixes to improve their ability functionality and visual effects.

Pick'Ems Return for Masters Toronto

PC players can look forward to the return of Pick'Ems for Masters Toronto, starting on May 28th. Players will be able to predict which teams will advance from the 8-team Swiss Groups, with bonus points available for correctly predicting teams that advance with a perfect 2-0 record.

Participants can earn an exclusive title just for playing, with additional prizes for those finishing in the top 50% and top 20% of all players. The feature will also include a community leaderboard to compare predictions with other players and content creators.

Console-Specific Improvements

Console players receive some quality-of-life improvements in this update. Riot has added a description for the Fast Melee Equip option in the advanced controls settings. More significantly, based on player feedback, the developers have expanded the range for two key movement settings:

  • Walk/Run Threshold minimum value reduced from 0.5 to 0.001
  • Movement Deadzone maximum value increased from 0.5 to 1.0

These changes give console players more flexibility in customizing their movement controls to match their preferred playstyle.

With this patch, Valorant continues its evolution across platforms while maintaining its focus on competitive integrity and gameplay clarity.
