A New Partner in a Collapsing D.C.
For years, agents have fought largely alone or in small squads to reclaim Washington D.C. A full-fledged Companion System could fundamentally change that dynamic. While details are emerging from the PTS, the concept opens up huge possibilities for solo players who need backup during tough missions or for duos looking to round out their tactical approach.
This isn't just about having an extra gun in a fight; it's about altering build synergy, creating new flanking opportunities, and potentially adding a new layer of progression to the game. The core question is how impactful these companions will be. Will they be customizable? Will they have unique skills that complement agent builds? This PTS phase is our first chance to find out and, more importantly, to tell the developers what works and what doesn't.
How can I give feedback on the Companion System?
Massive is keeping it direct. They've put out the call on their official social channels, asking players who are in the PTS to share their first three impressions. This is your chance to directly communicate what you like, dislike, or think could be improved. Getting your thoughts in now, while the feature is still in a malleable state, is the most effective way to help shape its final form.
If you have access to the PTS, now is the time to jump in. Test out the new companion, see how it feels in combat, and let your voice be heard. The future of solo play in The Division 2 could depend on it.
