Just when you thought the streets of Washington D.C. couldn't get more dangerous, a new threat emerges from the shadows for Halloween. Starting October 21, Tom Clancy's The Division 2 is kicking off its annual spooky event, introducing a new target known as 'The Houndsman' and a unique named weapon that could shake up mobility builds.
The Houndsman Hunt is On
This isn't your typical seasonal event. Instead of hunting for candy, agents will be hunting rogue tech. Mini Warhounds will begin appearing across the open world, and destroying them will grant you bounties for their master, The Houndsman. Completing these bounties rewards Houndsman Caches, which are your key to the new gear.
Pay close attention to the calendar, agent. During the first week of the event, from October 21 to October 27, Houndsman Caches will have a guaranteed drop of a piece from the new Houndsman Outfit. After that first week, the outfit moves to the in-game store, though the mask will remain available in the caches. If you want the full set for free, you need to act fast.
New Rewards and The 'Quickstep' Pistol
Starting October 28, a new two-week Project Chain will go live, offering more exclusive rewards. Completing these projects will net you the Sinister Shade Outfit and, more importantly, a brand-new Named Weapon: the 'Quickstep'.
The Quickstep is a Tactical M1911 pistol with a unique talent called 'Sport Mode'. While the pistol is unholstered, it grants a flat +20% Movement Speed bonus. This is a significant mobility buff that doesn't require kills or status effects to activate, making it a powerful tool for repositioning, escaping danger, or closing the gap in PvP. It could become a staple for shield builds or anyone looking to add some serious speed to their loadout.
How do you get the Quickstep weapon?
The Quickstep Named Weapon is a final reward from the special Project Chain that begins on October 28. You'll need to complete the associated objectives over a two-week period to unlock it and the accompanying Sinister Shade Outfit.
The entire Halloween event runs from October 21 until November 11. Gear up, hunt down those hounds, and don’t miss your chance to claim these limited-time rewards.
