Game Updates

Throne and Liberty players can expect significant quality-of-life improvements with Update 2.2.0, scheduled for March 19, 2024. The update will introduce new UI features, fix party matchmaking issues, make the Totem Ursa morph available account-wide, and address various weapon mastery bugs that have affected gameplay since launch.

Maintenance Schedule and Core Improvements

NCSOFT has announced that Throne and Liberty servers will undergo maintenance on March 19, 2024, starting at 10:30 PM PT (5:30 AM UTC on March 20) for approximately six hours. During this downtime, the development team will implement several critical fixes, including solutions for the party matchmaking problems that have frustrated players in recent weeks.

One of the most significant issues being addressed is the party matchmaking bug that caused members to be placed into separate instances and prevented players from claiming random matchmaking rewards even after rejoining their party. This fix should streamline the grouping experience for players tackling the game's challenging content.

New UI Features Enhance Combat Awareness

The update introduces valuable UI improvements designed to enhance situational awareness during combat. Players will now have access to Target-of-Target and Target-of-Other-Player display options that appear below the current Target bar, providing crucial information during complex encounters.

Party leaders will also gain the ability to place target markers, improving coordination during group content. Additionally, the update adds new chat stickers (including numbers 0-9 and a Spear visual) and implements navigation buttons between the Skill menu and Weapon Mastery window for more intuitive menu navigation.

What's Changing for Weapon Mastery?

Several weapon-specific issues are being addressed in Update 2.2.0. Staff users will see adjustments to the auto-firing behavior of Flame Discipline, while the Burning Ripple ability will now properly affect other players in PvP scenarios. Bow users benefit from a fix to Deadly Marker, ensuring it correctly grants cooldown reduction when firing from higher ground.

The update also adds the ability to Alt-Click on Mastery skills to link them in chat, making it easier to share builds and strategies with other players.

Nebula Island and Boss Behavior Improvements

Players frequenting Nebula Island will notice that several Rift Fracture mobs now use the party contribution system to determine item drops. Once an item drop is assigned to a party, all members will have an equal chance of receiving it, promoting fairness in group content.

Boss encounters should also feel more consistent with improved reset behavior for Nirma and Minezerok, addressing frustrating situations where these challenging foes would unexpectedly reset during battles.

Quality-of-Life Enhancements

A welcome change for collectors is that the Totem Ursa morph will now be available account-wide, eliminating the need to unlock it on multiple characters. Gamepad users will appreciate the removal of default reverse-direction behavior from the L2 stick, with new options to customize this behavior in the Gamepad preferences.

Other improvements include:

  • Fixed stat debuffs that previously remained applied after completing story instances
  • Corrected the "Hidden Treasure in the Waterfall" Adventure Codex reward to properly grant an Artifact Chest
  • Adjusted piton placement near Deluzhnoa Temple for easier use
  • Updated low-resolution textures for Helpie in cutscenes
  • Fixed Korean language audio lines for King Khazaizin

Dimensional Trial Season 1 Rewards

Players who missed out on Dimensional Trial Season 1 reward titles during the March 13 maintenance will receive them during this update. The development team has identified affected characters and will distribute the missing titles as part of the maintenance process.

Will There Be Item and UI Fixes?

Several item-related issues are being addressed, including corrections to Tier 2 equipment tooltips that were missing links to view trait extract listings on the Auction House. The update also fixes incorrectly displayed availability of some Tier 2 items from the Contract Coin Merchant.

The Ornate Coin Shop will receive missing text descriptions on several items, and the "Ruling Demon" artifact set bonus will now properly grant its intended 6% Shield block chance.

Throne and Liberty Forest of Resentment showcasing the game's lush environment and atmospheric lighting effects

With these comprehensive improvements, Update 2.2.0 demonstrates NCSOFT's commitment to refining the Throne and Liberty experience based on player feedback. The maintenance is scheduled to conclude around 4:30 AM PT (11:30 AM UTC) on March 20, 2024, after which players can dive into the enhanced world of Solisium.
