Starry Studio has deployed a targeted patch for Once Human, taking direct aim at a couple of significant exploits that were impacting game balance and fairness. The latest update, Version 2.2.1, introduces a crucial cooldown for a major boss and plugs a leak that allowed players to get Blueprint Fragments illegitimately.
The most immediate change for many Metas will be the fix for the Lord of Moonlight encounter. Previously, players could leverage an infinite healing strategy, trivializing what should be a challenging fight against a powerful deviant. The developers have now implemented a 3-minute healing cooldown on the boss, forcing squads to rely on proper tactics and coordination rather than a simple exploit.
Restoring Balance and Fairness
Beyond boss mechanics, the patch addresses a more serious issue for the game's economy: an exploit allowing players to gain an abnormal number of Blueprint Fragments. In a survival game where progression is tied to what you can build, this kind of bug can severely damage the sense of fair play. Starry Studio has not only fixed the issue but stated that affected accounts will be reviewed, sending a clear signal that they are monitoring the game's integrity.
Several other quality-of-life fixes were included in the update:
- RaidZone Terrain: An issue causing incorrect mountain terrain to generate in the wilderness of RaidZone Mode has been resolved, which should prevent some awkward base-building situations.
- Securement Silo - PHI: A bug that caused collectible resources to disappear in this zone is now fixed, making resource runs more reliable.
- Starwish Guardian Set: A visual glitch where the set's kill effect displayed incorrectly in first-person view has been corrected.
- Mobile Controls: Punctuation controls on mobile devices are now responsive.
What does the Lord of Moonlight fix change?
This change forces players to respect the boss fight's intended design. Instead of a simple DPS race against a healable target, teams will now need to manage their resources, coordinate attacks, and survive the encounter through skill. It re-establishes the Lord of Moonlight as a formidable threat in the world of Once Human, making victory feel earned rather than cheesed.
