With the Early Access launch just hours away, Digital Sun Games has confirmed that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is fully playable on Steam Deck right out of the gate. While the game hasn't secured the official green checkmark just yet, the developers have clarified exactly what players can expect when taking their shopkeeping duties on the go.
Handheld Commerce and Dungeons
For a game built on the addictive loop of night-time dungeon crawling and day-time shop management, handheld portability is a massive win. The isometric perspective and inventory management mechanics of the Moonlighter series naturally lend themselves to the Steam Deck's form factor. Being able to run a quick dungeon run in bed or adjust shop prices during a commute fits the rhythm of this RPG adventure perfectly.
The developers confirmed that the game is functional on the device from Day 1 of Early Access. You won't need to wait for patches to start delving into the new dimensions or setting up your new storefront.
Is Moonlighter 2 Steam Deck Verified?
Technically, not yet. Digital Sun explained that the team is currently focusing on adjusting text sizes, which is the primary requirement remaining for the full "Verified" status. In the current build, some UI elements or dialogue text might appear smaller than the stringent standards Valve requires for the green badge.
However, this is a minor hurdle compared to performance issues or control incompatibility. The team is actively working on these readability tweaks. If you don't mind squinting slightly at item descriptions or dialogue for the first few days, the portable experience is ready for business.
