Director Yuya Tokuda has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds has surpassed 10 million copies sold worldwide since its February 28, 2025 launch. To celebrate this milestone, Capcom is preparing a free item pack for all hunters, alongside revealing an extensive roadmap of upcoming content including the first Title Update arriving on April 4, 2025.
First Title Update Brings Mizutsune and Grand Hub on April 4
The highly anticipated first free Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds arrives on April 4, 2025, introducing the fan-favorite Mizutsune to the roster of huntable monsters. Hunters will need to reach HR 21+ to challenge this graceful leviathan, while its more formidable Tempered variant will require HR 41+ to unlock.
Beyond new monsters, the update introduces the Grand Hub, a new multiplayer gathering location designed to enhance the social experience. Additionally, hunters will gain access to repeatable High-Rank Zoh Shia hunts, providing more opportunities to farm materials from this early-game monster.

Arch-Tempered Monsters Present Ultimate Challenge
For veteran hunters seeking greater challenges, the April update introduces Arch-Tempered monsters, beginning with Arch-Tempered Rey Dau. This formidable variant will be available through a limited-time event quest starting April 30, 2025, requiring HR 50+ to participate. A Free Challenge Quest for the same monster will follow on May 7, 2025.
Director Tokuda emphasized that these Arch-Tempered variants will push hunters to their limits, requiring mastery of game mechanics and optimal gear loadouts.

What's Coming in the End of May Update?
Looking ahead, the End of May update will expand the endgame with Tempered versions (★8) of Gore Magala and the game's apex predators: Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. These hunts will offer enhanced materials and greater challenges for experienced hunters.
Perhaps most intriguing is the announcement of a collaboration with another Capcom title, though specific details remain under wraps. Based on previous Monster Hunter collaborations, this could involve special armor sets, weapons, or even unique quest lines.
Weapon Balance Changes and Quality of Life Improvements
In response to community feedback, several balance adjustments are planned across multiple updates. The Corrupted Mantle, currently dominating the meta, will receive a nerf while other Mantles will be buffed to create more diverse build options.
Hammer users have reason to celebrate, as Tokuda confirmed the weapon will receive buffs in an upcoming update, though specific changes weren't detailed.

Quality of life improvements feature prominently in the roadmap, including:
- Reduced waiting times when accessing facility functions
- UI/UX enhancements for accessing information
- Improved item restocking systems
- Enhanced skill information checking
- Streamlined multiplayer quest participation
- Seikret and camera behavior improvements

PC Stability Improvements
PC hunters will be pleased to know that stability issues are being addressed as a priority. The development team is working on reducing VRAM usage and implementing a DirectStorage upgrade to improve performance across various hardware configurations.
These optimizations should help reduce the crashes and performance issues that some Steam users have reported since launch.
What Features Are Coming in Summer and Beyond?
The second Free Title Update, scheduled for Summer 2025, will introduce several highly requested features:
- Endemic life preview list - allowing hunters to track discovered species
- Layered weapons system - enabling cosmetic customization while maintaining stats
- Game economy and balance adjustments
- Additional challenging monsters (details to be announced)

Tokuda closed his message by thanking the community for their continued support and feedback, emphasizing that the team is committed to making Monster Hunter Wilds the best hunting experience possible through regular updates and improvements.
