Mojang Studios has launched an exciting new live event in Minecraft based on the upcoming movie. From March 25 to April 7, 2025, players can join the battle to save Midport Village from invading piglins, participate in three themed mini-games, and earn exclusive cosmetic rewards including the coveted Yearn cape.
Defend Midport Village and Earn Exclusive Movie-Themed Capes
The piglins are attacking Midport Village, and it's up to players to save the day in Minecraft's latest live event. Running from March 25 at 2:30 PM PT (10:30 PM CET) until April 7 at 2:00 PM PT (11:00 PM CET), 2025, this limited-time multiplayer experience brings the world of A MINECRAFT MOVIE directly into the game.
Players who successfully complete five challenges during the event will earn the exclusive Yearn cape, featuring stunning artwork inspired by Steve's longing for the mines. The cape will be available in both Bedrock and Java Edition for players using the same account across platforms.
Three Action-Packed Mini-Games to Save the Village
Upon joining the event, players will meet Steve in the village square for a battle briefing before diving into three distinct mini-games:
Mining with Henry
In this resource-gathering challenge, players team up with Henry to collect crucial materials from the mineshaft while staying alert for approaching hostile mobs. Strategic mining and constant vigilance are key to success.
Protecting Payloads with Natalie and Dawn
Players must escort transport carriages pulled by llamas while fighting off waves of attacking piglins. This escort mission requires combat skills and teamwork to ensure the vital resources reach their destination.
Defending the Walls with Garrett
Three massive Nether portals have opened on the village outskirts, with piglins pouring through. Players join Garrett on the defensive wall with bows to repel the invasion, while avoiding incoming projectiles from the enemy forces.
Earn Additional Movie-Themed Capes Through Creator Content
Beyond the in-game Yearn cape, players can complete their movie-themed collection with two additional exclusive capes:
- Home Cape: Available by watching Minecraft creators on Twitch for at least 3 minutes
- Menace Cape: Earned by watching Minecraft creators on TikTok for at least 3 minutes
After watching the required content, players will receive a 5×5 redemption code to claim their cape. Both capes will be available in Java Edition as well as Bedrock. Players have until April 6, 2025, to claim these additional capes.

Beyond the combat-focused mini-games, Midport Village offers a rich environment to explore. The settlement features unique shops, distinctive structures, adorable mobs, and hidden items that might provide advantages in the fight against the piglins.
How to Join the Live Event
The event is exclusively available on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and requires the latest version (1.21.70). Players can access the live event directly from the main menu once it begins. The multiplayer server allows friends to team up or for solo players to join forces with other defenders.
