The Annihilation Wave officially makes landfall on December 1, 2025. Tribute Games has confirmed the release date for Marvel Cosmic Invasion, accompanied by a massive cross-game initiative involving Marvel's biggest mobile and PC titles.
The release schedule for late 2025 just got crowded. While we knew the Annihilation Wave was coming, we now have a concrete date for the invasion. Tribute Games is launching their arcade-style beat 'em up across PC and consoles in just under two weeks.
The Marvel Universe Unites Against the Wave
What makes this launch interesting isn't just the standalone game, but how Marvel Games is leveraging its entire ecosystem to support it. The narrative hook of Marvel Cosmic Invasion—heroes banding together to stop a galaxy-ending threat—is bleeding into other titles. It creates a sense that the threat in the Negative Zone is big enough to ripple out into the rest of the Marvel gaming multiverse.
Starting soon, we are going to see "cosmic collaborations" popping up across the landscape. While specific rewards haven't been detailed yet, these events are designed to bridge the gap between the different genres Marvel currently occupies.
Which games are joining the invasion?
According to the announcement, the following titles will feature collaborative events leading up to and following the December 1 launch:
- MARVEL Strike Force
- MARVEL Rivals
- MARVEL Snap
- MARVEL Contest of Champions
- MARVEL Future Fight
It’s a smart play. If you're grinding ranks in Marvel Snap or pushing the payload in Marvel Rivals, you're likely going to see thematic reminders that the Annihilation Wave is active. Tribute Games also noted that even more collaborations are scheduled to integrate into Marvel Cosmic Invasion in early 2026, suggesting post-launch support will rely heavily on keeping the community engaged across these different platforms.
Try the Demo Before Launch
If you want to see how the "Cosmic Swap" mechanic feels before committing to the full purchase, a demo is currently available. It’s a good opportunity to test the arcade pacing and see if the 15-hero roster offers the build diversity you're looking for before the full invasion begins.
The Annihilation Wave hits December 1 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
