Major Item Overhaul Reshapes TFT Meta
The most substantial change in Patch 14.5 is the comprehensive item update that replaces and reworks several core items in League of Legends' auto-battler mode. Guinsoo's Rageblade has been completely reworked to grant stacking Attack Speed per second rather than per attack, making it viable on a wider range of champions while discouraging multiple Rageblade builds.
Several classic items have been replaced entirely: Guardbreaker becomes Striker's Flail, Redemption transforms into Spirit Visage, Runaan's Hurricane gives way to Kraken's Fury, and Statikk Shiv is replaced by Void Staff. Sterak's Gage remains but with significant adjustments to its stats and shield mechanics.
What's changing in the Artifact system?
With these core item changes, several item fantasies have moved into the more powerful Artifact space. The update introduces new Artifacts including Flickerblade, The Indomitable, Statikk Shiv (now an Artifact), and Titanic Hydra. Meanwhile, Anima Visage and Spite have been removed entirely from the game.
Existing Artifacts like Lich Bane, Mogul's Mail, and Wit's End have received balance adjustments to ensure they remain competitive options in the current meta landscape.
Cosmetic Rarity Tiers Simplified
Beyond gameplay changes, TFT is simplifying its cosmetic rarity tier system to create more consistency. Little Legends released before Patch 14.5 in the Rare and Epic tiers will be combined into a new Standard tier, while non-upgradable Little Legends and Booms are designated as three-star content.
Opening Encounters and Champion Balance
Two Opening Encounters have been disabled in this patch: Upgraded Start (which provided a two-star 2-cost champion) and To Split or Not To Split (due to bugs). To compensate, several other Opening Encounters have had their appearance rates increased.
Multiple champions have received balance adjustments across all cost tiers, with notable buffs to underperforming carries like Graves, LeBlanc, and Veigar. Leona's max Mana has been increased to reduce her ability to stall out games with repeated Durability casts.
Revival: Remix Rumble Extended
The Revival: Remix Rumble mode has been extended and will be available until July 29th. This nostalgic game mode has received several balance changes to traits like Disco, Emo, Hyperpop, K/DA, Mosher, and Spellweaver, along with adjustments to champions including Annie, Evelynn, Olaf, and Yasuo.
Trait Adjustments and Bug Fixes
Several traits have been rebalanced in both the main Cyber City set and the Revival mode. Anima Squad (3) has received a buff to its weapons damage, while Exotech (7) has been strengthened to make it more viable in the current meta.
The patch also includes numerous bug fixes, including issues with Nami's ability targeting, K'Sante's ability damage display, and various Augment interactions.
