Vanguard Update: LP Refunds for Matches with Cheaters
In a significant step toward combating cheating, Riot is implementing a system that refunds LP for players who lose ranked matches due to confirmed cheaters. When a cheater is detected and banned, affected players will receive notifications showing when the match occurred, how much LP was refunded, and their updated rank.
Players who repeatedly queue with cheaters (known as "hitchhiking" or "bussing") will face bans themselves. Additionally, those who report cheaters will now receive feedback notifications when those accounts are penalized.
Naafiri Midscope Update: Ability Swap and Untargetability
Naafiri receives a substantial midscope update in Patch 25.06, with her W and R abilities swapped. Call of the Pack (now W) makes Naafiri untargetable, while her passive packmate scaling has been increased throughout the game. The update aims to make her kit more intuitive while preserving her identity as the leader of the pack.
Major Gameplay Adjustments
Champion Bounty System Overhaul
The champion bounty system has been significantly adjusted, with gold lead detection time reduced from 14 to 6 minutes. Bounty suppression by lead severity has also been increased (from 0/20/40/60/80/100% to 30/60/90/100%), making early game comebacks more viable.
Anti-Lane Swap Changes
Lane swap penalties have been reduced from 50% to 25% for minion gold/XP, while the end time for penalties has been shortened for top lane (3:30 to 3:00) and mid lane (3:30 to 2:15). These adjustments aim to make lane swaps less punishing while still discouraging the strategy.
Champion Mastery Icons Get a Refresh
New champion mastery icons are being released based on player feedback, bringing the emotes more in line with their previous versions while giving them a fresh look. Final tweaks to color, texture, and audio will come in the next patch.
Battle Academia Skins Arrive March 19
Four new Battle Academia skins will be available starting March 19, 2025, at 20:00 UTC. The lineup includes Battle Academia Kayn, Rakan, Xayah, and the prestigious Prestige Battle Academia Qiyana. Each skin comes with multiple chromas for players looking to customize their academic style.
Mythic Shop Overhaul
Starting March 20, 2025, at 00:00:00 UTC, the Mythic Shop will use a new rotation system with different timers for each category. This revamped system allows content to cycle more quickly, giving players more chances to obtain desired items.

Your Shop Returns
Your Shop is back and will be available for two patches, ending on April 16, 2025. This gives players ample time to check out personalized discounts on skins based on their champion preferences.
What Champion Balance Changes Are Most Impactful?
Over 20 champions receive balance adjustments in Patch 25.06, with the most significant changes affecting Gwen, Singed, and Naafiri.
Gwen: Shifting Power Curve
Gwen's adjustments shift her from late-game hyperscaling to a more balanced power curve. Her base health has increased while health growth is reduced, passive damage scaling is slightly reduced, Q damage is buffed, W resistances are adjusted, E cooldown is significantly reduced, and R damage is slightly decreased.
Singed: The Minion Thief
In perhaps the most unique change of the patch, Singed can now steal kills from allied minions with his Poison Trail (Q). His base attack speed has been increased, while his E (Fling) AP scaling has been slightly reduced to compensate for the new mechanic.
Other Notable Champion Changes
- Kai'Sa: Base armor and health regen increased, R cooldown decreased
- Jhin: Passive AD scaling increased
- Jinx: R damage decreased
- Master Yi: Armor growth decreased, Q critical strike damage increased
- Smolder: W and E damage increased, R cooldown decreased
Item Adjustments
Two items receive significant changes in this patch:
- Serylda's Grudge: Armor penetration increased (30% → 35%), ability haste decreased (20 → 15)
- Warmog's Armor: Gold cost reduced (3300 → 3100), bonus health from items increased (10% → 12%)
Arena Mode Updates
Arena mode enthusiasts will find numerous balance adjustments, including champion balance changes, Guest of Honor adjustments, augment changes, and item balancing to keep the fast-paced mode fresh and competitive.
Audio Changes: The Black Rose Arrives
The Black Rose makes its presence known on Summoner's Rift with audio changes, including new spawn-in music and an additional layer of Black Rose female choir throughout different game stages, adding atmospheric depth to the League of Legends experience.
