Inzoi developer Krafton has announced a delay in their planned May update, pushing the release to mid-June to ensure quality. The postponed update will introduce an extensive ModKit with CurseForge integration and improved emotional expressions for Zoi characters.
ModKit Coming in June with Expanded Features
In a developer letter, Kjun from Krafton explained that the team is prioritizing quality over speed for the upcoming ModKit release. The postponement allows developers to refine the modding system, which will offer creators multiple ways to share their custom content.
When released, Inzoi's ModKit will support two distinct methods for mod installation: through the in-game Mod Browser via CurseForge integration or manual installation by placing files in the Documents\inZOI\Mods folder. This dual approach aims to provide flexibility for creators while maintaining an accessible system for players.
What Will the ModKit Include?
The June update will introduce several key modding capabilities:
- Tools for editing and replacing graphics for set outfits and furniture
- Customizable game settings and logic via developer-accessible JSON files
- Sample projects demonstrating clothing, hairstyle, furniture, and interaction creation
- CAZ Wizard tool specifically designed to help beginners with set outfit modding
While comprehensive data-based modding will be possible for all outfit types, Krafton noted that some advanced features—including scripting functionality—won't be available at launch as development continues.
Emotional Improvements for Zoi Characters
Beyond modding capabilities, the June update will significantly enhance how Zoi characters express emotions and develop distinct personalities. Kjun acknowledged issues discovered during the emotional stability work in a previous update, where some Zois would freeze or fail to properly display emotional states.
The upcoming improvements will introduce emotion-based conversations and reactions, allowing characters to behave differently based on their current emotional state. For example, sad Zois might "cry in the bathroom," while characters will show varied behaviors even for routine activities like eating, depending on their mood and needs.
How Does Krafton Handle Player Feedback?
In the developer letter, Kjun also detailed how Inzoi's team processes player feedback. The developers review comments from Discord, Steam, and customer support channels daily, prioritizing issues based on frequency and impact.
While not every suggestion can be implemented immediately, the team assesses bug reports based on whether they're unresolvable by players or frequently disrupt immersion. Krafton has committed to improving communication around how feedback influences development priorities.
For life simulation enthusiasts waiting for these new features, the mid-June update promises substantial improvements to both modding capabilities and character behaviors in this god-like sandbox experience.
