The latest community event for Dying Light: The Beast has officially kicked off, and this week, Techland is asking the community to get their hands dirty. Week 6 of the "Call of the Beast" series, dubbed "Master Craftsman," shifts the focus from pure combat to the survival mechanics that keep Kyle Crane alive in the post-apocalyptic woods.
The Master Craftsman Challenge
Survival isn't just about how hard you can hit a volatile; it's about what you can build with the scraps you find while scavenging. For Week 6, the objective is straightforward but demanding: the global community needs to collectively craft millions of items. It doesn't matter if you are making medkits, weapon mods, or lockpicks—every single crafted item counts toward the total.
This fits perfectly into the narrative of Kyle Crane's return. After 13 years in captivity, Crane knows better than anyone that you have to improvise to survive. While his new beast-like powers are formidable, a well-crafted weapon often makes the difference between surviving the night and becoming a snack for the infected.
Community Goals and Rewards
Techland has set two major milestones for this week. If the community pulls together to hit these numbers, everyone participating gets the loot. Here is what we are working toward:
- Goal 1: Craft 20,000,000 items to unlock the Redwood Runner.
- Goal 2: Craft 35,000,000 items to unlock the Shanker.
The numbers look high, but given the necessity of crafting in the gameplay loop, active players should contribute significantly just by playing normally. However, if you have been hoarding resources, now is the time to burn through your stockpile and craft everything you can.
When does the event end?
The "Master Craftsman" challenge is live right now and runs until November 27 at 4 PM CET. You have exactly one week to contribute to the global total. Make sure you check your progress at the outpost to ensure your contributions are registered for the rewards.
