Funcom has deployed Patch 1.2.30.0 to the Public Test Client (PTC) for Dune: Awakening, bringing significant logistical upgrades and combat refinements to Arrakis. While this update is currently in testing, the changes point toward a shift in how players manage resources and handle status effects in the near future.
Heavy Hauling for the Carrier Ornithopter
The standout addition in this build is the new Carrier Ornithopter Cargo Container. For survival games, inventory management is half the battle, and this new item is a logistics dream. It boasts 150 slots and a massive 15,000 volume capacity. This drastically changes the efficiency of resource runs, allowing guilds and solo players to transport base-building materials or spice hauls in fewer trips. If you're the designated hauler for your crew, your job just got a lot more efficient.
Combat Tuning: Prescience and Movement
Combat mechanics are receiving targeted adjustments that should make gameplay feel more responsive. The ability Prescience has received a functional buff: activating it now clears existing poison stacks. This adds a layer of defensive utility to the ability, potentially making it a strong counter-pick against poison-heavy builds or creatures in the deep desert.
Additionally, a frustrating movement quirk has been addressed. Dashing out of a stun state now respects your input direction rather than defaulting to a backward dash. This sounds minor on paper, but in the heat of PvP or a tense PvE encounter, moving exactly where you intend to can be the difference between survival and respawning.
How do I get the Observer building set?
For the architects among us, the Observer building set pieces are now directly purchasable from vendors. Each piece costs 2,500 Solaris. This provides a consistent way to acquire these aesthetic pieces using in-game currency, allowing for more reliable base customization.
As this patch is currently on the Public Test Client, keep in mind that values and mechanics may be tweaked further before hitting the live servers.
