Season 1 of Battlefield 6, titled "California Resistance," has officially deployed. The fight against the private military corporation Pax Armata is now on US soil, bringing the conflict to the new Eastwood map. This first major content drop also introduces the objective-focused Sabotage mode and adds two new weapons to the arsenal.
Welcome to Eastwood
The new battlefield is Eastwood, a map that brings the all-out warfare to the American West Coast. While details on the layout are still coming in, the "California Resistance" theme suggests a mix of environments perfect for varied combat. Expect tight engagements in suburban zones that give way to more open, rugged terrain. This map will likely test squad adaptability, forcing teams to switch between close-quarters loadouts and long-range setups to control key points of interest against Pax Armata forces.
Sabotage: A New Strategic Objective
A brand new mode, Sabotage, is being introduced. This isn't your typical large-scale Conquest match. Sabotage modes historically demand coordinated squad-based attacks on specific objectives, requiring one team to plant charges while the other defends. This tightens the focus of the fight, making every push and every defensive hold incredibly impactful. If it plays out like classic objective modes, expect intense standoffs where a single well-placed shotgun blast or a coordinated push can win the round.
What new weapons are in Season 1?
Two new firearms are joining the fight, and they look set to shake up close-range encounters.
- DB-12 Shotgun: A new shotgun is always a big deal for players who love to breach and clear objectives. The DB-12 will likely become the go-to choice for aggressive point-takers on maps like Eastwood, capable of dominating indoor fights and tight corridors.
- M357 TRAIT Sidearm: For your secondary slot, the M357 TRAIT sounds like a high-damage revolver. Expect a slow fire rate but devastating stopping power, rewarding players with steady aim who need a reliable finisher when their primary runs dry.
On top of the PvP content, a new Gauntlet mission named 'Rodeo' has also been added, offering another challenge for players to tackle. Season 1 is just the beginning, but it's a strong start that adds fresh strategic layers to Battlefield 6.
