Knife fights are coming to Northridge. Morefun Studio Group just dropped a teaser for the next season of Arena Breakout: Infinite, and it looks like we're trading ballistics for blades in a specific new mode. Alongside the content tease, the developers released their weekly anti-cheat report, confirming over 5,000 bans were issued between November 17 and November 23, 2025.
Northridge Goes Melee-Only
The biggest reveal here is the upcoming melee-only game mode slated for the next season. According to the announcement, this mode is exclusive to the Northridge map, specifically centered around the Hotel area. If you know Northridge, you know the Hotel is usually a sniper's paradise from the outside and a CQB nightmare on the inside.
What makes this interesting isn't just the weapon restriction—it's the tease of an "undisclosed entity" hiding within the Hotel. This hints at a potential PvE boss mechanic or a horror-themed event similar to what we see in other extraction shooters during special events. Forcing players into melee range against a potential boss entity changes the entire dynamic of the game's usual slow, tactical pacing. It forces players to abandon the safety of cover and engage directly, which could shake up the meta significantly for this specific mode.
How effective is the current Anti-Cheat?
While we wait for the new season, the war against cheaters continues. The latest "Fair Play" report covers the week of November 17 to November 23, 2025. Here is the breakdown of the actions taken:
- Total Bans: 5,373 accounts penalized for cheating.
- Player Compensations: 30,291 players received compensation for unfair deaths.
The ratio here is significant. With over 30,000 compensations issued, it's clear that while cheaters are present, the automated systems are actively flagging these incidents and refunding lost gear. For a game where the economy is everything and losing a kit can set you back hours of grinding, those refunds are often more valuable to the player base than the bans themselves.
We don't have a hard release date for the melee mode yet, but with the "next season" terminology used, it aligns with the upcoming Winter content push. Time to practice your knife timing.
