Embracing the Complexity
If you’ve spent the last two weeks staring at a collapsing supply chain because you forgot one specific raw material three islands away, Ubisoft Mainz feels your pain. In a recent community update, the team explicitly suggested nominating the game for the "Best Game You Suck At" award.
It’s a fitting category for the franchise. The core loop of juggling economic prosperity, military dominance, and intricate logistics is designed to be overwhelming. Whether you're struggling to keep the peace in a rebellious province or failing to optimize your bread production, that friction is exactly what strategy enthusiasts sign up for. Of course, the devs noted that the "Sit Back and Relax" category is also a valid option if you play on slower speeds—though I'd argue "relaxing" is a strong word when your economy is dipping into the red.
When is Patch 1.3 releasing?
Alongside the awards campaign, the developers dropped a quick update regarding the game's technical roadmap. Patch 1.3 is officially scheduled for release in December 2025. While specific patch notes haven't been published yet, the team stated they are currently finalizing the update.
Given the recent launch on November 13, players are likely hoping this patch addresses some of the lingering performance hiccups and UI friction points reported since release. We will have the full breakdown of changes as soon as Ubisoft Blue Byte pushes the notes live.
