While Metas are busy fighting back the tide of Stardust, Starry Studio is adding a place to unwind. The Once Human version 2.2.1 update, rolling out after a two-hour maintenance on November 12, introduces the 'By-the-Wind' amusement park, alongside critical quality-of-life changes for RaidZones and better rewards for core activities.
A Touch of Normalcy in a Broken World
The most surprising addition in this patch is a new social feature: the By-the-Wind amusement park in Island Paradise. In a world defined by the struggle for survival against Stardust-mutated horrors, this offers a dedicated space for players and their warbands to take a break from the grind. It's a clear move to bolster the game's community aspects, giving Metas a place to hang out that isn't a fortified base or a dangerous anomaly site.
RaidZone and Deviation Overhauls
For players focused on the endgame, patch 2.2.1 brings some practical changes. RaidZone runs will feel much smoother now that you can finally discard unwanted gear and weapons directly within the instance, freeing up precious inventory space mid-fight. No more choosing between a potentially useful drop and a full bag.
The update also delivers better incentives to engage with the world's anomalies. The Deviation modes—Survive, Capture, and Preserve—now offer improved rewards, making these core activities more worthwhile for gathering resources and pushing back against the Stardust threat.
How does the RaidZone team size change affect players?
The team size for RaidZone on Hard servers has been adjusted to a firm 8 players. This standardizes the challenge, preventing larger groups from steamrolling content and forcing teams to build more coordinated compositions. Guest accounts have also been banned from RaidZone entirely, a move likely aimed at curbing exploits or boosting services.
To top it off, new cosmetic items are hitting the shop, including the Lightforge Loot Crate: Stellar Promise and the upcoming Mistveil Serenity theme pack. And for the downtime, all players will receive a compensation package of 1,000 Starchrom, 100 Mitsuko's Mark, 300 Starwish Tokens, and 3 Detoxident as a thank you for their patience.
