The bayou is about to get even bloodier. A new, purely PvP-focused community event has kicked off in Hunt: Showdown 1896. Dubbed "Plowshares and Pitchforks," the event runs from November 14 until December 1, 2025, and it’s all about racking up Hunter kills.
Unlike objective-based events, this one is a straightforward contest of combat prowess. Players must align with one of two factions: the Redneck Rampage or The Sowers. Your mission is simple: eliminate enemy Hunters. The team with the most collective kills by the end of the event will determine the reward for the entire community.
Choose Your Side, Earn a Reward
The stakes are purely cosmetic, but the bragging rights are real. The weapon skin unlocked for everyone depends entirely on which faction comes out on top. Your performance directly contributes to the outcome.
- If Redneck Rampage wins: The community unlocks the Patron’s Payer: Marksman skin.
- If The Sowers win: The community unlocks the Empty Cairn: Sniper skin.
This team-based approach means every kill counts towards a shared goal, turning every match into a potential turning point for your chosen side.
How will this event change my matches?
Expect a significant shift in the meta for the duration of the event. With the primary goal being Hunter kills rather than boss bounties, players will likely adopt more aggressive, confrontational strategies. Hotspots may form away from clue locations, and you can anticipate more ambushes and less focus on stealthy PvE play. If you've been waiting for an excuse to go looking for a fight, this is it.
