The upcoming November update for Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is set to fundamentally reshape progression and cooperation in Westeros. In a new developer note, Netmarble Neo detailed a massive overhaul that touches everything from skill points and gear enhancement to how players will trade and fight together across the war-torn realm.
Core Systems Are Getting a Full Overhaul
Perhaps the most significant change is a complete rework of the skill system. Strike Combo skills will now be the primary place to spend your points. Meanwhile, Special, Moving, Basic, and Ranged Attacks will automatically scale with your character's level, freeing up a massive number of points for build diversity. Best of all, any points players have already invested in these auto-scaling skills will be fully refunded after the update, giving everyone a free, mandatory respec.
The Production & Trade systems are also being streamlined. They will be separated from Manor Management, and the tedious Trading Carriage is being removed entirely. Instead, production will shift to an idle-style system where resources accumulate over time, letting you focus more on the battlefield and less on micromanagement.
How will the skill changes affect my build?
This is a huge buff for build specialization. With basic attacks scaling automatically, you no longer have to spend points on foundational damage. You can now pour those refunded points directly into your powerful Strike Combo skills or other unique abilities, allowing for more focused and potent character builds right from the get-go.
New Ways to Fight for Westeros
As the Great Houses scheme, new cooperative battlefronts are opening up. The update introduces two major forms of group content:
- Besieged Sites: A 2-player cooperative mode where you and an ally must defend against waves of enemies.
- Cooperative Mission System: A server-wide effort where all players contribute to completing shared objectives, reflecting the large-scale conflicts shaking the Seven Kingdoms.
A new dungeon, the Altar of Lost Memories: Firewyrm, is also being added, promising new challenges and rewards for those brave enough to enter.
What are the new endgame progression systems?
Two new systems are being added to deepen the endgame gear grind. Slot Enhancement allows you to level up the gear slots themselves, making even a mid-tier item with good stats viable for longer. Engraving lets you extract a desired Skill Trait from one piece of equipment and transfer it to another, giving you a way to preserve that perfect roll you found on an otherwise unremarkable item.
A quick heads-up for explorers of the far North: the Beyond the Wall Expedition will be temporarily closed for a major overhaul. The developers urge players to use any remaining entry tickets before the November update goes live.
These changes signal a clear focus on deepening the RPG systems and providing more meaningful cooperative content. The quality-of-life improvements to trade and skills should make the moment-to-moment gameplay smoother, while the new progression and coop modes give players more reasons to fight for their House's claim to the Iron Throne.
